Who We Are
American Land & Legacy is a coalition of landowners dedicated to defending our God-given, Constitutionally-protected property rights that safeguard family farms and ranches. This organization was born in one of the most intense political battles in South Dakota’s history, where landowners rallied together in a David vs. Goliath battle, and when they stood firm for what is right, we WON BIG against all odds. But our work is not done. We must remain vigilant against ongoing threats against our land.
What We Believe
Rural America thrives when families can build businesses, teach real-life skills, and create jobs on Main Street without red tape or overreach. We support innovators and risk-takers through true free-market capitalism, not political market manipulation that funnels taxpayers’ dollars to the donor class.

From the Director…
I’ve spent my life on the land — as the daughter of a rancher, the wife of a rancher, and a mother of four raising the next generation with dirt under their boots and responsibility on their shoulders. I know firsthand that property rights are not theoretical. They are personal. They determine whether families can stay on the land, pass something on, and live free from coercion by distant power.
American Land & Legacy exists for one reason – to defend your God-given, Constitutionally-protected property rights, for our kids and grandkids.
We are here to hold lawmakers accountable for the votes they take when the cameras are off and the lobbyists are in the room. We are here to educate voters on what bills actually do — not how they’re branded, spun, or sold by political insiders. And we are here to make sure landowners are never caught flat-footed again by legislation that threatens their rights, their livelihoods, or their legacy.
Too often, bad policy advances quietly, buried in technical language and rushed through under the guise of “progress.” We refuse to let that happen. We will shine light on the details, name the consequences, and tell the truth — plainly and without apology.
This work isn’t comfortable, and it isn’t seasonal. But freedom never is.
At American Land & Legacy, we are committed to vigilance, education, and action — so the land remains in the hands of those who steward it, now and for generations to come.
God bless!
